Travel & Stay
The Island is only 14 miles long, so we don’t expect a lot of issues with transit - choose your favorite place!
Two if by Sea
Ferries depart from New Bedford and Hyannis. New Bedford (operated by Seastreak, 1hr 45 min ferry time) is closer to NYC, but the Hyannis ferry is faster at 1hr (operated by both The Steamship Authority or Hy-Line Cruises). Steamship Authority also offers a car ferry from Hyannis to Nantucket that is 2 hr 45 min. Reservations for all ferries must be booked in advance!
Car parking is available at both ferry terminals. '
Note: The ferry from East 35th Street in NYC to ACK stops operations in September, so that will not be an option for our guests.
One if by Air
Flying is the most convenient option; for those coming from NYC the in-air flight time is 41 minutes (include HPN in your search for maximum availability).
For those coming from out-of-state, we recommend checking flights with connections in Boston, DC, or Philadelphia as well.

Hybrid Options
Providence Amtrak station is a half hour Uber from the New Bedford Ferry terminal.
Providence Airport is a 45 minute Uber from the New Bedford Ferry terminal.
Rental car options are available from Hyannis, convenient for those planning to fly to ACK and take the ferry / drive home on Sunday.
Note that Ubers are widely available on-island, and there is no need to bring or rent a car!
We will provide transportation to and from Sankaty. Buses leave Main Street at 3:30 with pick-up at 16 Broad Street across from Whaling Museum; buses will be marked ‘Barrett’s Transportation.’ Buses will depart at 10:00 p.m. from Sankaty: one to the Chicken Box and one back to 16 Broad Street.

The following hotels are part of the room block (generally three night minimum):

Most hotels on-island list rooms on a nightly basis, which can offer more flexibility than the three-night minimum stays. Transportation to/from Sankaty Head will depart from Downtown (Main Street), but the whole island is easily accessible via Uber
Airbnb
While supply is somewhat limited, Airbnb could be a good choice for larger groups that are still reliving their South Bend days.
